APPLE ORCHARD

My favorite season is fall. The days are not too hot but not too cold either. The wind whistles through your ears as you watch the leaves begin to change and fall to the end of their life. But before all this amazing goodness of Fall can occur the apples must be picked and picked.

To me apple picking is the symbol of the seasons changing from summer to fall. It is during the time of harvest and prosperity of food. An apple picking event consists of overloading on apples, bringing home way too big of a bag and of course the photoshoot opportunity! The greenery of the trees and grass together, apples fallen along the side of the trees, and ladders to use as props for photos. I am just saying I love a little photoshoot moment especially while doing an activity I thoroughly enjoy anyways.

This fall my sisters and I went to one of your favorite apple orchards. Yet, like any other sibling event there is bound to be arguing. Lets just say that during this particular event, apples were launched at each other and screaming and arguing took place the majority of the time. But, that was behind the scenes, no one would have ever known that to capture the pleasant and delightful moments of this trip it was trampled with bickering and arguing.

Moral of the story is that you cant believe everything that you see on the internet or even based on a pictures because behind every photo is involved with so much emotion.

Pros

  • Doughnuts! The sugar doughnuts are literally the best! We found this place 5 or so years ago and my grandparents to this day swear by their doughnuts.
  • Barn! There is so many things to do at this place but the barn itself is so cute. It has a little loft, with tables and bakery and you can actually rent out the barn for events which is awesome! Outside of the barn there is a rope swing with a hay pit under it, corn sensory buckets for young children or adults, animals and tractor rides!
  • And of course the apple trees, there is a small variety of trees but a huge selection of apple rows.
Cons:
  • Gravel road: Getting there can be a pain because the roads are kind of trash. But last time I went they were working on parts of the road so hopefully that it is better now. But the entrance to the place itself is on a gravel path
  • Porta-potty: It is a nice bathroom, but not terribly big for people that need accessibility needs
