About Me

 HI!

 I am Ashley Houttekier. I am in my last semester of undergrad at the University of Toledo. I will be graduating with a degree in General Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. I am the Vice President of Epsilon Alpha Pi (EAPi), which is the co-ed professional education fraternity on campus. Before COVID some of my favorite memories on campus were with my friends from EAPi. One of the first ones that comes to mind is Songfest, where we sang and danced in front of our peers. Although I only remember getting on and off stage, the practices leading us to the grand day made the experience immaculate.

    Aside from school, I love to go hiking and travel to the different national parks, forests and state parks. This past December I was home for 10 days after traveling to West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida! If you haven't noticed I am always on the move. After graduation I plan on traveling to all 50 states and visiting as many national parks as I can for 10 to 12 months before I move overseas!!

    I like to think that I am funny, kind of a comedian. My friends would describe me as a "bundle of energy" and I would have to say that's pretty spot on. I love to meet new people and take recommends on places to travel to!

Some of my recommendations: If you are in the Toledo area: -Swan Creek Preserve -Secor Metro Park -Wildwood Metro Park

Anywhere else:
-Colorado Springs
-Hickory Run State Park, PA
-San Juan, Puerto Rico

The question I get asked most is "If you could go anywhere, where would it be?"

My answer is the same every time;

 "I want to go every where. I want to see everything. How can I

simply pick one place, when there is so much to explore still!"

That answer comes from a long complexed journey and discovery that I will have to share next time.
